Project Description

This project included the construction of a new 11,000 square-foot, wood and steel framed two-story building and related site improvements. The facility houses ski resort services including ticketing, sales, customer service, rentals, ski & snowboard skill development, mountain operations, locker rooms, conference space and administrative, marketing and management support office spaces.

Project Description

North McCarran Crossing is a 9.69 acre in-fill project totaling 14,111 square-feet. As the General Contractor, United Construction manged the all construction development for the two structures and tenant improvements for Fatburger, U-Swirl, H&R Block, Smog Check, NV Nails, Sprint and T-Mobile.

Project Description

This project included the build-out for La Famiglia Italian Restaurant in a multi-use building that United Construction originally built. The restaurant features a commercial kitchen, large dining room, private bar space and a private dining room.

Project Description

This 187,343 square-foot, environmentally sensitive school was built for the Washoe County School District. The new school prototype accommodates a maximum of 1,400 students and is comprised of five buildings, two of which are two-story plus two athletic fields. United Construction worked closely with the architect and structural engineer on the challenges and unique features of this first of its kind prototype middle school.

 

The school contains more energy efficient features than any other school in the district to date and uses ground source heating and cooling systems to provide heating and cooling to the school’s individual mechanical systems. A cool roof deflects radiant energy resulting in less energy required to cool the building. Skylights and day lighting windows as well as light shelves which bounce sunlight off classroom ceilings allow the building to be lit naturally thus reducing the amount of artificial light needed.

Project Description

The 12,250 square-foot, LEED Gold Certified office includes 2 interior courtyards, lighting control systems to reduce energy use, and recycled building materials purchased from local sources to minimize gas consumption. Each workstation features a window and roller shades allowing employees a view outside and control of their lighting.

Project Description

This project included the demolition and removal of two existing buildings and construction of a two-story, 36,150 square-foot building with structural steel and masonry bearing walls, with Centria metal panels, glass window and curtain walls, and barrel and flat roof components. Includes offices, operational areas, meeting & assembly rooms, and locker rooms. The building is blast resistant in both the structural system and the exterior shell and skin system and includes a sophisticated communications and data system capable of transmitting visual, written, and voice information to military operations throughout the world. Intelligence gathering and transmitting operations within the building are shielded to prevent electronic penetration by outside sources.

Project Description

New 872,710 square-foot distribution center that houses a 55,000 square foot fish distribution aquarium with 5,000 aquariums. The fish distribution area has 6” thick insulated interior wall panels for climate control, a fish testing laboratory, 1500 KVA generators for back-up power to the aquariums and the water for the fish tanks is reclaimed in a 10,000 gallon under slab tank. Above ground are seven 10,000 gallon water tanks that circulate 130 gallons of water through the aquariums per day.
