Project Description

The 40,000-square-foot Symmetrix facility in Minden is the new home for the composite tooling manufacturer, who previously set up shop in Carson City. The industrial building features a two-story corner office, concrete block to provide durability and 30 feet of clearing space. The facility also houses a 27-inch thick steel reinforced concrete pad for their keystone piece of equipment: a 100-foot-long CNC milling machine dubbed “The Poseidon.”

Project Description

The 10,978 sf, two-story addition at Dassault Falcon sits on the Reno-Tahoe International Airport grounds. The expansion features a storage room for parts and equipment, break room, full locker rooms with bathrooms and showers, conference room, avionics work room, new stairways and a quality assurance room overlooking the main aviation work floor.

 

Dassault is a French based aircraft manufacturer of business and corporate jets. The United Construction design-build team also delivered the existing building used by Dassault. United delivered it in 1996 as an aircraft maintenance hangar for Reno Air.

Project Description

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent need for increasingly accessible health care, a more comprehensive, one-stop-shop facility in the Oddie Blvd. neighborhood was a necessity. In order to meet the needs of their growing clientele, Community Health Alliance hired United Construction as their construction partner for the remodel of their Sparks Health Center.

 

The facility tenant improvements, which includes an expansion into the adjoining tenant space, has brought improved patient exam rooms, a brand-new nurse’s station, an expanded waiting room, revamped blood laboratory space, a new pharmacy and a food pantry to service patients who are food insecure. United and their subcontractors installed several new-and-improved building aspects – including demolition; framing; mechanical, plumbing and electrical work; wall insulation; pharmacy windows; water line tie-ins; pantry cabinets; finishes and more – making for a fresh and comfortable space for all.

Project Description

Uline, the largest shipping supply company in the world, hired United Construction to build their new industrial facility at 8800 Military Road in Reno. This facility is just over 900,000 sf that features three separate tenant improvements. The main office is nearly 16,000 sf while the separate Warehouse Managers Office is a two-story office structure.

United Construction stayed true to Uline’s exceptionally high building standards set by the owner Elizabeth Uihlein and were proud to deliver the building with in-rack fire suppression within its racks, a large automated UPS conveyor system, Sackett Battery charging station, three coats of high-quality paint, a generator to support full power pack up, and much more.

Project Description

The Jennifer M. O’Neal Community Ice Arena (“Reno Ice”) is a 3.83-acre National Hockey League regulation ice rink totaling 38,843 square-feet. The site features 30 miles of corrugated tubing that house aqua ammonia to freeze the ice; over 17,000 plastic grids to hold the tubing, keeping the floor at 23 degrees Fahrenheit; 4″ thick ice on the rink floor; and a reverse osmosis system to recycle the water through the Zamboni pit and into the Zamboni. United Construction teamed up with Frame Architecture for the design and Reno Engineering Corporation for the civil engineering.

 

A facility owned by the nonprofit Greater Reno Community Ice Skating Association, Reno Ice is the first year-round ice rink in Reno. Donors and advocates for the ice arena emphasize the benefit it brings the community, including hockey, sled hockey, broom ball, curling, figure skating, power skating, open skating, birthday parties and other community events.

Project Description

The LifeChurch “Gymnatorium” is the second phase of the LifeChurch development in South Reno. The 11,600 SF facility was constructed adjacent to KidsLife, a 22,160 square-foot child development center that United Construction completed in 2017.

 

The Gymnatorium serves 1,150 members with a worship center and recreation court for basketball and volleyball. As the Design-Assist Contractor, United collaborated with Van Woert Bigotti Architects to maximize flexibility for LifeChurch’s growing congregation.

Project Description

The new assembly building for LUX Dynamics, a Reno-based manufacturer of high bay lighting fixtures, is a 51,050-square-foot facility on Corporate Blvd. As the Design-Build contractor, United Construction provided in-house architectural design and construction management for the new tilt-up facility. Features of the building include 28’ clear-height ceilings and a 5,724 square-foot mezzanine that offers flexible expansion options. With completion of the new facility, LUX has capacity to expand their team to upwards of 100 employees.

Project Description

The new manufacturing plant for Berkley International, a molded fiber and sustainable packaging provider headquartered in Southern California, is an 80,000-square-foot facility at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center (TRIC). United Construction’s internal team provided architectural design for the project to design a space that accommodated Berkley’s current needs within a young company’s tight budget, and had expansion flexibility to support their growing success.

 

United Construction worked closely with Berkley International, their equipment suppliers in South Africa, and local building partners to complete the project with zero safety accidents, on-time and under budget.
