Originally designed and built in 1932, the former Reno-Main Post Office is being revitalized and transformed into a retail and business work-space, Fifty South Virginia. United Construction is honored to be the General Contractor for such a significant project; reviving an iconic historical landmark into a catalyst for business in Downtown Reno.

Here’s a sneak peak of the new Downtown Reno Starbucks that will feature an outdoor courtyard and drive-through. The project is scheduled to finish this winter; in time to enjoy your favorite holiday drink! The building is being constructed on top of the U.S. Bank three-story, underground parking garage located on the corner of East Liberty and Virginia Street.

Service was a little different this past Sunday at Horizon Christian Church. Adorned in hard hats and safety vests, the Pastors, with the help of their families, broke ground on their new 11,196 SF church facility. The building will feature a contemporary design, complemented by high-end AV throughout the sanctuary.

United Construction Midwest continues to forge ahead on the new LogistiCenter℠ at McCook Industrial Park, in McCook, IL. With the steel structure for Building #1 completing this month, and the foundations starting for Building #2, the industrial campus is starting to take shape.

LogistiCenter℠ at McCook will be a state-of-the-art industrial campus. Building #1 in LogistiCenter℠ at McCook will be 351,900 square feet at 32’ clear height with 289 car parking stalls, and four drive-in doors. Building #2 will be 310,800 square feet at 32’ clear height with 343 car parking stalls, and four drive-in doors.

United Construction congratulates the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows for kicking off summer 2014 in their new location at the William N. Pennington Facility.

The new state-of-the-art building was designed and built with fun in mind. It features separate areas for teens, tweens and youth with education rooms, computer labs, recreation rooms and art rooms. It houses a commercial-grade kitchen and cafeteria, multi-purpose rooms filled with ping pong and pool tables, and a four-court gymnasium featuring an indoor climbing wall, as well as a large outdoor play area. The second floor of the building is the home for the new Link Piazzo Non-Profit Center. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada and The Solace Tree have relocated their local headquarters to the new center, creating a greater synergy and partnership for resources and referrals between the three organizations.

Project Update: After breaking ground earlier this spring, construction for a new 624,000 SF LogistiCenter℠ spec building is well under way with the first half of the facility tilted up. This building is the first phase of Dermody Properties’ new development LogistiCenter℠ at 395, a 91-acre, three-building, industrial park located on Lemmon Drive near Highway 395 in northern Reno.

Project Update: Construction on the new 603,000 SF Lake Washington Partners commercial building in Spanish Springs is progressing quickly. The first half of the building has been tilted up and the entire slab-on-grade has been poured. With underground infrastructure almost complete, this project is moving ahead on schedule.

On June 5, United Construction broke ground on LogistiCenter℠ at McCook, a two-building industrial complex totaling 662,700 square feet. Located 11 miles from downtown Chicago at the entrance ramp to I-55, LogistiCenter℠ at McCook provides access to both downtown Chicago and I-294, serving suburban Chicago.

Building #1 in LogistiCenter℠ at McCook will be 351,900 square feet at 32’ clear height with 289 car parking stalls, four drive-in doors and 74 dock positions. Building #2 will be 310,800 square feet at 32’ clear height with 343 car parking stalls, four drive-in doors and 70 dock positions.

The industrial park’s location at the full four-way interchange of I-55 and 1st Avenue provides significant transportation advantages to industrial manufacturing and distribution operations.

United Construction is proud to announce the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows officially opened their new William N. Pennington Facility on May 20, 2014. State of Nevada and City of Reno officials, foundation partners and members of the Club’s board of directors all joined to cut the ribbon and open the doors to the new 55,000-square foot facility located on Foster Drive in Reno. The facility will serve between 3,000 to 4,000 youth annually, an increase of more than 25 percent of the Club’s current membership.
