Project Description

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent need for increasingly accessible health care, a more comprehensive, one-stop-shop facility in the Oddie Blvd. neighborhood was a necessity. In order to meet the needs of their growing clientele, Community Health Alliance hired United Construction as their construction partner for the remodel of their Sparks Health Center.

 

The facility tenant improvements, which includes an expansion into the adjoining tenant space, has brought improved patient exam rooms, a brand-new nurse’s station, an expanded waiting room, revamped blood laboratory space, a new pharmacy and a food pantry to service patients who are food insecure. United and their subcontractors installed several new-and-improved building aspects – including demolition; framing; mechanical, plumbing and electrical work; wall insulation; pharmacy windows; water line tie-ins; pantry cabinets; finishes and more – making for a fresh and comfortable space for all.

Project Description

The Jennifer M. O’Neal Community Ice Arena (“Reno Ice”) is a 3.83-acre National Hockey League regulation ice rink totaling 38,843 square-feet. The site features 30 miles of corrugated tubing that house aqua ammonia to freeze the ice; over 17,000 plastic grids to hold the tubing, keeping the floor at 23 degrees Fahrenheit; 4″ thick ice on the rink floor; and a reverse osmosis system to recycle the water through the Zamboni pit and into the Zamboni. United Construction teamed up with Frame Architecture for the design and Reno Engineering Corporation for the civil engineering.

 

A facility owned by the nonprofit Greater Reno Community Ice Skating Association, Reno Ice is the first year-round ice rink in Reno. Donors and advocates for the ice arena emphasize the benefit it brings the community, including hockey, sled hockey, broom ball, curling, figure skating, power skating, open skating, birthday parties and other community events.

Project Description

The LifeChurch “Gymnatorium” is the second phase of the LifeChurch development in South Reno. The 11,600 SF facility was constructed adjacent to KidsLife, a 22,160 square-foot child development center that United Construction completed in 2017.

 

The Gymnatorium serves 1,150 members with a worship center and recreation court for basketball and volleyball. As the Design-Assist Contractor, United collaborated with Van Woert Bigotti Architects to maximize flexibility for LifeChurch’s growing congregation.

Project Description

This project included the rebuild of a 5,650 square-foot funeral home after the original facility had burned down. The new space features private meeting rooms, and events center with prep kitchen.

Project Description

KidsLife is the first phase of a multi-phase development in South Reno. The 22,160 SF, two-story building features outdoor and indoor recreation areas, classrooms, and conference/multi-purpose space. As a CMAR, United Construction worked closely with LifeChurch and the architect during Pre-Construction and Construction to achieve their desired Programming within the confines of a strict budget.

Project Description

This project included construction for a new 12,000 square-foot residential facility and a client resource center for women going through treatment to overcome substance abuse disorders. The 20-bed facility was designed as a nurturing healing residence that includes dorm rooms, a commercial kitchen and outdoor spaces that are conducive to a therapeutic environment. As the Design-Build Contractor, United Construction worked closely with the Architect to use innovative design and building methods to achieve a design that aligned with STEP2’s goals.

Project Description

This project included the construction of a Temporary Radiation Treatment Area for Renown Hospital. The new 1,395 square-foot, standalone building houses a radiation machine where oncology patients will be treated during the expansion of Renown’s existing facility. The Temporary Radiation Facility features a lobby with waiting room area, patient changing rooms, and a treatment room. As the General Contractor, United Construction Company was responsible for all of the site improvements including foundations, underground utilities, parking lot, sidewalks, landscaping, and site lighting.

This project included the design and construction of a new 11,000 square-foot church. The masonry building featured a sanctuary, second-story prayer room, classrooms and gathering spaces.

Project Description

This project included the build-out of a 13,200 square-foot clean room and workshop in an existing warehouse for a laboratory supply manufacturer. The project required new RTU’s, upgraded electrical service, underground plumbing, a mechanical platform above the clean room, a new exterior window in the clean room and warehouse upgrades.

Project Description

This project included the construction of a new 55,000 square-foot facility featuring education rooms, computer labs, recreation rooms and art rooms. It houses a commercial-grade kitchen and cafeteria, multi-purpose rooms filled with ping pong and pool tables, four-court gymnasium, indoor climbing wall, and a large outdoor play area. The second floor of the building is the home for the new Link Piazzo Non-Profit Center.
