The new 53,000 sf facility features a state-of-the-art showroom, 22,095-square-foot warehouse with a five-ton overhead crane spanning 70 feet. As the General Contractor for this project, our work ensured that there was plenty of room for future expansion.

As the first building to be constructed in the new Rancharrah community, 5301 Kietzke has set the bar high for buildings to come. The two-story, 20,259 square-foot building features floor to ceiling windows that frame incredible views expanding from the mountains to downtown. With positioning along a major thoroughfare, the glow of modern LED fixtures illuminating through the building’s iconic glass design is enjoyed by thousands daily.

 

5301 Kietzke was designed to be as efficient as it is stunning. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls provide a modern aesthetic, breathtaking views and energizing amounts of sunlight for guests and employees to enjoy throughout the workday. The unique floor plan was designed to leverage the daylight for maximized lighting efficiency and enjoyment. Complimenting the natural daylight and picturesque views are modern LED light fixtures that double as artistic design enhancements. Lighting and door controls are digitally programmed and managed online for ultimate of use and sustainability.

 

Together, innovative building design and wise material selection create the ultimate window system that regulates temperature, glare from the sun and noise reduction. The Charles Schwab Office was designed with 4-foot by 4-inch vents along the floor-to-ceiling glass walls. The vents ensure consistent temperature control year-round. Additionally, upgraded MechoShade systems are in sync with the sun and direct the window treatments to lower and raise automatically, or at the push of a button.

“The historic landscape surrounding the University of Nevada, Reno has a new landmark.”

 

Just across the street from Nightingale Concert Hall now stands a three-story office building with a distinctively modern aesthetic. The multifaceted design features a variety of unique and exotic finishes throughout, including more than 10 on the exterior alone. It is the new home of University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC), an organization that spans 28 countries and specializes in providing university students with affordable and valuable study abroad programs.

 

As the Design-Build Contractor, United Construction collaborated extensively with USAC and the architect, Van Woert Bigotti, throughout design and preconstruction by providing constructability feedback and ideas for Value Engineering. The teamwork continued through construction and it is evident in the iconic stature of the final product.

Project Description

This project included the design and construction of a new hangar and Fixed Base Operations (FBO) facility at the Reno Tahoe International Airport. The project included the demolition of two existing buildings on site, upgrading the existing site parking areas with new asphalt overlay, the installation and re-routing of existing utilities to the facility, and the construction of a new 30,000 square-foot aircraft hangar and new two-story 13,000 square-foot FBO facility.

This concrete tilt-up project is a 48,000 square-foot facility housing natural cork storage, branding and light manufacturing. The facility includes a commercial grade laboratory, and features a 6,000 square-foot office build-out for management and administrative use.

The 12,250 square-foot, LEED Gold Certified office includes 2 interior courtyards, lighting control systems to reduce energy use, and recycled building materials purchased from local sources to minimize gas consumption. Each workstation features a window and roller shades allowing employees a view outside and control of their lighting.

The 421,000 square-foot Freeman Decorating Services building houses 387,666 square-feet of convention services merchandising warehouse space and a 100,000 square-foot, Class-A office build out.

Project Description

This design-build project included the design and expansion of the existing city hall to a total of 35,000 square-feet. The building was constructed of cast-in-place concrete for the basement walls, masonry and steel structural system for ground level floor and roof support, and a steel and wood structural system for the roof.
