Today we honor and congratulate Chuck Brown, Superintendent, on his well-earned retirement after an extraordinary 45-year career with United Construction.

Chuck began his journey with us as a laborer, working his way through the ranks to become a superintendent on some of our largest and most complex industrial projects — including LogistiCenter at 395 (a 1.2M SF industrial park), Freeman Decorating Services in Las Vegas, LogistiCenter at Kiley Ranch, and Park at McCarran Buildings 2 & 3.

Known for his ability to lead subcontractors, keep projects on schedule, and maintain a clean, safe, quality-controlled environment, Chuck is a true craftsman at heart. But it’s not just his expertise that made him such a valuable member of Team United — it’s his ever-present smile and positive attitude that made everyone enjoy being around him. Chuck has always brought a sense of calm, humor, and optimism to the jobsite, setting the tone for collaboration and teamwork.

From school projects in his early days, which Chuck described as “prestigious to work on” — to major industrial facilities, every project has been a favorite in his eyes.

Chuck, your dedication, leadership, and joyful presence have left a lasting mark on United Construction and the communities we serve. You will be deeply missed, and we thank you for everything you have built with us — both in structures and in relationships.

On Friday, August 15th, our team was proud to attend The Children’s Cabinet’s Art of Childhood event in support of their mission to keep children safe and families together.

We join in honoring Michael and Tammy Dermody and Dixie May for their remarkable dedication and leadership over the past four decades. Their enduring commitment to the mission of The Children’s Cabinet has made a lasting impact on countless lives in our community, and their work continues to inspire all of us.

As part of the celebration, United Construction built and donated an ice cream truck playhouse for the live auction. The playhouse raised $1,750, helping support the programs and services The Children’s Cabinet provides for children and families across the region.

A big thank you to everyone at United Construction who played a part in building and delivering this year’s playhouse: Chris Bennett, Leman Jones, Cortney Roman, Amanda Kneisel, Shelby Preston, Ryan Bollinger, Angie Dawson, Carrie Dyer, Audrey Mackey, Marshal Hoffman, and Eduardo Gochez. Your time, creativity, and craftsmanship brought something truly special to this event.

We’re honored to support The Children’s Cabinet and proud to be part of a community that comes together to make a difference.

United Construction is proud to share a major milestone at our 1050 Waltham Way project, all slab on grade work is now complete!

The project team achieved a remarkable feat during the week of July 4th, completing four slab pours over four consecutive days (June 30th to July 3rd). Bonanno Concrete and CMC Rebar successfully executed nine slab pours, covering +315,000 square feet of 7” thick concrete slab on grade totaling over 7,100 cubic yards of concrete placed at the project slab on grade. Due to value engineering work and the outstanding performance of SNC, Bonanno Concrete, CMC Rebar and the United Construction team, the project is currently ahead of schedule.

53 wall panels have been formed, and 34 wall panels are fully reinforced and ready for ledger installation; once the C-Channel ledgers are installed, wall panel concrete pours will commence. Starting date for wall panel tilt is anticipated to be on or near August 18th, with a contractual final completion date for the entire building in May 2026.

United Construction was proud to sponsor and support the 8th Annual Construction Career Day held at Lemelson STEM Academy on Friday, May 2nd!

A big thank you to the Nevada Chapter AGC and ACE High School for hosting this incredible event, which gave students a hands-on, interactive introduction to the world of construction. From birdhouse building and heavy equipment exploration to city-building activities, relay races, finger painting, and more — students had a blast learning about the many pathways in our industry.

Special thanks to our team members Audrey Mackey and Amanda Kneisel for volunteering their time and energy to help inspire the next generation of builders!

We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to projects that support our customers’ growth, and the Hamilton Clean Room was no exception.

The Hamilton Clean Room Project was a remarkable undertaking, consisting of a 3-story, 64,916-square-foot concrete tilt-up and steel-framed structure. The first floor houses a state-of-the-art clean room with injection molding machines and packaging automation for medical-grade pipette tips—an essential addition to Hamilton’s advanced manufacturing capabilities.

We look forward to continuing our strong partnership with Hamilton Company for years to come!

Progress is moving full speed ahead at LogistiCenter at Kiley Ranch, and we’re excited to celebrate another major milestone! On February 10th, our team began the wall tilt for Building 1, marking a significant step forward in this state-of-the-art logistics development.

This project features two cutting-edge industrial facilities designed to support the growing demand for logistics and distribution space. Building 1, spanning 197,732 square feet, is set for completion in October 2025, while Building 2, at 187,632 square feet, is on track for May 2025.

We had a fantastic time at the 7th annual Northern Nevada Construction Career Day, hosted by the Nevada Chapter AGC! Held on October 3rd at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center, this event brought together more than 1,600 middle and high school students from Northern Nevada. Through hands-on activities, interactive exhibits, and insights into education, training, and apprenticeship opportunities, students got an exciting glimpse into the possibilities of a construction career. We’re proud to support the next generation of builders and leaders in our industry!

A huge congratulations to Stellar Aviation and Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority on the grand opening of Stellar Aviation! This milestone marks a significant investment for the Reno community, bringing enhanced services and opportunities to the Reno-Tahoe area. United Construction is proud to have been a part of this incredible project. A big shoutout to our amazing UCC team members Dylan McAninch, Nick Crawford, Glady Robinette, Carrie Dyer, Mark Byars, Devin Gottschalk, Zach Caron, Carol Evans, and Keith Deutscher for their hard work and dedication on this project. On March 2nd, Dermody Properties and Locus Development Group as the project Developer team and United Construction as the Design-Builder were honored with awards for NAIOP Northern Nevada Industrial Park of the Year (Park at McCarran) and Industrial Build-to-Suit of the Year (Building 1 Ames). Since the NAIOP CRE Awards event was not held in 2023, the 2024 event was held to recognize projects completed in 2022 and 2023.

With the sheer size and scale of this development, United Construction people drove this project to successful completion over the 2-1/2-year project development timeline. This project was designed and built during the pandemic and broke ground just as supply chain issues started causing long lead times for various equipment and materials and the subsequent unpredictable material cost escalations.

Our deepest thanks and appreciation go to Locus Development Group (Joel Grace) and Dermody Properties (John Ramous) for selecting United Construction as their Design-Build partner on this remarkable project. We also thank the Ames, InnoPak, Candle Science and Fidelitone companies that occupied all the buildings as initial tenants.

Numerous United Construction team members who were responsible for successfully delivering these facilities deserve our utmost recognition include Audrey Mackey, Carrie Dyer, Casey Gunther, Jeremy Kearns, Chuck Brown, Dylan McAninch, Pete Brunner, Paul Laird, Sandy Penny, Catherine Bernauer, Chris Bennett, Keith Deutscher, Glady Robinette, Ken Rice, Leman Jones and Mark Byars.

United Construction has over 45 years’ experience designing and building industrial and manufacturing facilities, and for the Park at McCarran development was able to assemble the best project management/control team, consultants, vendors and subcontractors to successfully navigate and mitigate the project regulatory, permitting, schedule and financial challenges that were encountered on the project. This is what United Construction always does best, day in and day out for and with our customers.

It is with great admiration and warm wishes that we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Greg Park, Preconstruction Project Manager, on his well-deserved retirement!

With an impressive career spanning over four decades, Greg has been an invaluable cornerstone of the construction industry, dedicating an incredible 28 years of his journey to United Construction. With a focus on preconstruction excellence, Greg has been the driving force behind the successful estimating of numerous high-profile public and private projects. His approach, deep industry knowledge, and commitment to quality have been invaluable to our company. In a testament to his outstanding contributions, Greg Park was honored as the Associated Builders and Contractors’ 2021 Distinguished Member of the Year at the first-ever ABC Reno Recognition Awards. He has been involved on the ABC Board of Directors for over 15 years and continually goes above and beyond for the organization. In 2017, Greg was also honored with the prestigious AGC Silent Samaritan Award, a testament to his significant contributions to the community.

Greg’s commitment to our community is further exemplified by his longstanding role as the Director of the Sky Tavern Adaptive Program for an impressive 26 years. This program, under his leadership, has played a crucial role in teaching children with physical, cognitive, or neurological disabilities how to ski and snowboard, fostering inclusivity and empowerment. Greg’s commitment extends to aiding our nation’s heroes, as he has been an active instructor for the Disabled Veterans Ski Camp for three years in a row. Additionally, Greg has contributed as an instructor for the Spinal Cord Injury Ski Camp Program facilitated by Renown. His involvement in these programs underscores his commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in our community.

As Greg embarks on this new chapter, we express our deepest gratitude for his unwavering dedication, leadership, and the countless contributions that have shaped United Construction over the years. Here’s to the next chapter, Greg – may it be as rewarding and fulfilling as your remarkable career!
