CA Team VolunteersMembers of United Construction’s Northern California office joined together with the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services to help provide people in need with clothing, blankets and household items. It was a heartwarming experience to help families in our community access provisions, especially as we head into the cold winter months.

Volunteering supports an important aspect of our Build United philosophy in giving back to the communities where we live and work. United Construction is honored to support the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services and their mission to assist those in need by alleviating their immediate pain and problems and moving them toward self-sufficiency and financial independence.

Food Bank of Northern Nevada

What better way to celebrate the holiday season than to volunteer? United Construction team members joined together last week to sort and package donated food items at the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. We are proud to support our local Food Bank and their mission of feeding the hungry today and solving hunger for tomorrow through community partnership.

Reno Commercial General ContractorHere’s to Starting Summer in a Brand New Facility – Congratulations Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows!

United Construction congratulates the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows for kicking off summer 2014 in their new location at the William N. Pennington Facility.

The new state-of-the-art building was designed and built with fun in mind. It features separate areas for teens, tweens and youth with education rooms, computer labs, recreation rooms and art rooms. It houses a commercial-grade kitchen and cafeteria, multi-purpose rooms filled with ping pong and pool tables, and a four-court gymnasium featuring an indoor climbing wall, as well as a large outdoor play area. The second floor of the building is the home for the new Link Piazzo Non-Profit Center. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada and The Solace Tree have relocated their local headquarters to the new center, creating a greater synergy and partnership for resources and referrals between the three organizations.

United Construction welcomes David WiseUnited Construction welcomes David Wise 2014 Winter Olympic Gold Medalist and Reno hometown hero, David Wise, visited the United Construction office to share stories about his journey to the top of the podium in Sochi.

Among the many competitive experiences he talked about, a major take away was what lead to the turning point in his career. David attributed his success to focusing on family, specifically his wife and daughter, maintaining a work-life balance, and the importance of both physical and mental preparation for competition.

A big thank you to David for spending a very inspiring afternoon with the United Construction team. We look forward to seeing you on the podium again in the years to come!
