Tom Shanklin is a seasoned construction professional who excels at overseeing projects that require complex phasing, logistics, and the finest attention to detail. Tom’s vast experience ranges from managing construction for large warehouses in challenging industrial environments to luxury retail stores in Beverley Hills. Due to his Customer centric approach and natural ability to build relationships, Tom has earned an incredible reputation that gets him consistently requested by Customers to oversee their projects.
Tom began his career in commercial construction after spending over ten years in the mortgage industry, where he became an expert at the financial side of commercial real estate development. Tom’s financial background serves him well in construction and helped him to advance quickly through the ranks from an Estimator, to Superintendent, and then into Project Management. With such a well-rounded background, Tom is an effective and well respected leader in the field and in the office.
Prior to joining the United Construction team, Tom managed projects for new ground up construction, site renovations, and tenant improvement projects for a national top 400 general contractor. Tom was responsible for overseeing multiple projects simultaneously and fostering relationships that earned him numerous repeat Customers. Tom was selected by Restaurant Depot to oversee construction for seven of their large warehouse supply stores throughout the West Coast, in addition to working on other projects for large national brands such as 99 Cents Only Stores. By overseeing all projects from the initial conceptual design phase through construction completion Tom added value by collaborating with each Customer to deliver consistency in quality, schedule, and cost.
